When Cyberpunk 2077 launched in 2020, it was a cautionary tale of overhype and underdelivery. But five years later, the game has undergone massive transformation. Thanks to patches, DLC, and a dedicated overhaul, Cyberpunk 2077 in 2025 is a completely different experience—and yes, it’s finally worth playing.
The Phantom Liberty expansion introduced a gripping new storyline, a refined skill tree, and updated combat systems that make the game far more tactical. Gone are the days of clunky police AI and game-breaking bugs. In their place: smooth mechanics, better enemy behavior, and more immersive city dynamics.
Night City has become what it was always meant to be—alive, dangerous, and reactive. Side quests have more depth, dynamic events feel organic, and NPCs finally behave like they’re part of a living world.
Combat has seen the biggest improvement. You can now build around melee, hacking, stealth, or all-out gunplay with meaningful perks. Weapon recoil, AI flanking, and cyberware upgrades give real weight to your choices.
Visuals remain stunning, especially on next-gen consoles and PC with ray tracing enabled. And loading times? Practically gone.
The game still has its quirks, but it no longer feels broken. It feels whole. For those who waited, this is the Cyberpunk 2077 that should have launched. And for newcomers, it’s one of the best open-world sci-fi RPGs on the market today.
